How to Browse Faster Using Dial-up

Faster Browsing using 56K Dial-up Service - NO ADDITIONAL COST
        For those who like to cut to the chase, here's the bottom line
    (Scroll down for the details of the 'what' and the 'why')

    You can browse faster if web pages do not load images (mainly pictures & videos)
    All of the current popular website browsers allow you to turn images off or on
    (You do not need to be online to make these changes)

    Internet Explorer:
    1. Open Internet Explorer
    2. Click TOOLS
    3. Click INTERNET OPTIONS
    4. Click ADVANCED tab
    5. Scroll down to the MULTIMEDIA section
    6. Remove checkmark from SHOW PICTURES box
    7. (optional) remove checkmark from PLAY ANIMATIONS (optional-has limited effect)
    8. Click OK
    9. Close or Refresh Internet Explorer
    Internet Explorer will now load only the text on most websites
    Reverse these steps to load images again

    FireFox:
    1. Open FireFox
    2. In the address box (long space near top where website addresses are located - usually start with- http://www...etc)
    3. Remove anything in that box
    4. type: about:config
    5. Hit ENTER on your keyboard
    6. A long list will appear with a SEARCH box at the top
    7. in the search box type: permissions.default
    8. The long list will now only show 2 or 3 items
    9. Find PERMISSIONS.DEFAULT.IMAGE and Double-click on it
    10. A window will appear with the number 1 in the box
    11. Remove the 1 and enter the number 2 - click OK
    12. Close or Refresh FireFox
    FireFox will now load only the text on most websites
    Reverse these steps to load images again

    Chrome:
    1. Open Chrome
    2. Click SETTINGS
      (If you don't see SETTINGS click small square containing horizontal lines in far right upper corner)
    3. Click ADVANCED
    4. Click CONTENT SETTINGS button
    5. Locate IMAGES
    6. Put dot next to DO NOT SHOW ANY IMAGES
    7. Click DONE
    8. Close or Refresh CHROME
    Chrome will now load only the text on most websites
    Reverse these steps to load images again
